Proximity
Data’s designs are highly innovative and high-value implementations of
established and proven technologies. In particular,
the
following technology elements from leading vendors, including Intel and
Vitesse Semiconductor, are incorporated into the company’s designs:
Proximity
Data ‘s current original technology designs include:
- 4-Port SATA High Performance Host
Bus Adapter
- Host Bus Adapter with External
Interconnect
- Dispersed or Integrated SATA Link
Multiplier Board
- Host Bus Adapter Integrated-Process
Control
- High Density Storage Enclosure
- Managed Storage Enclosure (under
development)
- Network Storage Solution (under
development)
Additionally,
Proximity Data collaborates with software technology partners to offer
complete storage solutions, as demonstrated at the Intel Developer
Forum (September 16-18, 2003), where the company presented its
“Serial ATA Storage Building Blocks” concept solution. This solution
offers customers the
first of a kind, modular, scalable, easily configurable, highly
economical storage system. Proximity Data’s platform allows
customers to configure a system for on-line storage, near-line storage,
backup and archiving integrated, as needed, into a single enclosure
through aggregation of modular components. The solution, jointly
presented by Proximity Data and Vitesse Semiconductor at IDF,
demonstrated the application of Serial ATA technology in virtualized
networked storage using Softeor software and transported via iSCSI
protocol.
